Toronto
Ontario
Our visits: So far 2 visits in October 2002 and October 2013
Toronto
Description: With just about three million inhabitants, Toronto is the largest city in Canada and the capital of the province of Ontario. The city is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. It is a melting pot of different cultures and offers a lot of variety in every respect. Particularly in culinary and cultural terms, you can discover a lot.
Our rating: We have visited Toronto twice so far. Unfortunately, both visits were not necessarily optimal. The first time in September 2002 we didn't really have much time and the second time the weather was so bad that we couldn't really visit much. But what we saw made us want to come back and spend some more time in the city.
CN-Tower
Description: The city's landmark is 553 meters high and was the highest TV tower in the world until 2009. It is possible to visit the tower which attracts more than two million people every year because of its spectacular view on the city. In 1995 it was included in the list of Architectural Wonders of the Modern World.
Our rating: As the city's landmark, the CN Tower is, in our opinion, part of a Toronto visit. A view from the top over the huge metropolis is really spectacular and impressive. We can recommend a visit.

Toronto Islands
Description: The Toronto Islands are located in Lake Ontario and are offshore from the city. They mainly consist of parks and are used for local recreation. They were formed in 1858 during a heavy storm. They were torn off the mainland by a tidal wave and washed into the lake.
Our rating: In 2013 we drove along the islands by boat. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty bad. Nevertheless, we can imagine that you can escape the hectic of the city well here on the islands and spend a few relaxing hours.
