Ironwood
Westliche Upper Penisula, Michigan
Ironwood
Description: Ironwood is a small town on the western edge of Michigan, right on the border with Wisconsin. The town lives mainly from tourism, as there are plenty of opportunities to spend your vacation here all year round. The town itself offers the necessary tourist infrastructure. There is also a nice historic town center that tells the story of the town's history.
Our rating: Ironwood is not exactly a bustling place, but the small town is a good starting point for exploring the surrounding area.

Eat and Drink
Don & GG's Food & Spirits
1300 E Cloverland Dr, Ironwood, MI 49938
HOMEPAGE
Description: One of the restaurants recommended to us was Don & GG's. There is a dining room and an outdoor area to enjoy the nice weather. The menu features typical American cuisine, but also dishes that you won't find on every menu.
Our rating: Basically, we liked the restaurant very much. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, we had to wait almost two hours for our food. We were seated outside and had to move inside because the food took so long that it got dark and cold. This is rather unusual in the USA.
UP-N-Smoke Southern BBQ
232 E Ayer St, Ironwood, Michigan 49938
HOMEPAGE
Description: UP-N-Smoke Southern BBQ is a food truck located in a large square on the edge of Old Town. Here you can basically get freshly made burgers and fries in different varieties.
Our rating: The food was ok and freshly prepared. There are benches in front of the food truck where you can eat. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is very poorly maintained, so it's not really a nice place to eat. But ok, this is not a restaurant and you can also take the food to go.
Cold Iron Brewing
104 S Lowell St, Ironwood, Michigan 49938
HOMEPAGE
Our rating: We really liked the brewery. There is a huge, modernly furnished taproom where you can sit comfortably. There is also the opportunity to try the beers brewed here. The interesting creations were sometimes delicious and sometimes not so much.

Contrast Coffee Co.
108 Aurora St, Ironwood, MI 49938
HOMEPAGE
Our rating: A good way to get a delicious coffee in Ironwood. This was our daily go-to place. For warm days there is also a small outdoor area to sit in the sun.
