Ghost Ranch
Description: As the name suggests, the Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center is a conference and meeting center operated by the Presbyterian Church. Ghost Ranch is open to the public, but you can only drive as far as the Visitor Center. The great landscapes can only be explored in more detail on a guided tour or on foot.
For me, Ghost Ranch is particularly interesting because Georgia O'Keeffe owned a house and a studio on the grounds. As part of an O'Keeffe Landscape Tour, you get a lot of insights into the work of the artist. Using examples, many of Georgia O'Keeffe's motifs are shown and discussed. So you also get very close to the colorful rocks and can enjoy the great landscape to the fullest.
The tours can be booked online. If you want to participate in such a tour, you should book it in advance, because in our experience they are relatively often fully booked.
Our rating: We, especially I, found the tour very interesting and worth seeing. For fans a must see. Unfortunately, the house of Georgia O'Keeffe is not accessible to the public and so you can only take a look in passing. But even so, I loved to see which great landscapes inspired one of my favorite artist to her works.
