High Road to Taos
Around Santa Fe and Albuquerque - New Mexico
High Road to Taos General Information
The High Road to Taos is a 56mi Scenic Road from Pojoaque, north of Santa Fe, to Rancho de Taos, west of Taos. It passes through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There are lots of pretty little pueblo-style churches along the road. During our 2014 trip, we looked at a few of them.
Our rating: If you like small cute places, beautiful landscape and churches in adobe style, you will enjoy the drive on the High Road to Taos to the fullest. We liked it here very much and we can recommend a drive along here to everyone.

High Road to Taos - Rancho de Taos
Description: San Francisco de Asis the Church in Rancho de Taos is considered the most photographed church on the High Road to Taos. It was built in 1810.
But the church still has a small, for me important, special feature. Because my favorite artist Georgia O`Keeffee used the rear of the church for a few of her ingenious paintings.
