Navajo NM
Description: Navajo NM is very smal. There are a few trails to get to know the park. The main attraction a Cliff Dwelling (Betatakin) can be reached via a 1.25mi long paved trail. Ok, it takes you to a viewpoint of the Cliff Dwelling. To really look at Betatakin, you have to join a ranger guided tour. This is a relatively strenuous 5mi hike that also covers quite a bit of elevation gain.
Trail length: 1.25mi roundtrip
Altitude difference: –
Time needed: 1 hour
Difficulty level: easy
Our rating: We chose the comfortable option and only took a look at the Cliff Dwelling from above. The Navajo NM is not a must see, at least for us. It is rather something for those who are more interested in Native American history and culture. But it is a nice side trip if you are in the area or have a little time left.
