Lee´s Ferry

Description: Lee's Ferry has always been considered one of the few places where you could cross the Colorado, since it mostly flows in a canyon several hundred feet deep. With the mouth of the Paria River on one side and the relatively low canyon walls on the other, there was access from both sides. Today, Lee's Ferry has significance primarily as a boat landing, because this is where the boats are used to raft along the Colorado in a tour that lasts about two weeks.

Lee's Ferry is located on the territory of the Glen Canyon NRA.

Our rating: There aren't many places where you can put your feet, without much effort, into the Colorado. This one is. Plus, it's exciting to watch the boats leave and imagine the adventures that must await people on them. Lee's Ferry and Marble Canyon are definitely worth a side trip.
