Jacob´s Well
Description: Jacob's Well is a karstic spring located to the northwest of the small town of Wimberley, Texas. The first known description of the spring was probably by Jacob De Cordova, who mentioned it to a book in 1858. It is 12ft wide and 30ft deep, though there is a tunnel and chamber system about a mile long downstream. The spring feeds Cypress Creek.
The Natural Area is open daily, but swimming is not always allowed. So if you want to swim here, you should check the current status on the homepage beforehand. The entrance fee is only due if you want to swim here, otherwise the entrance is free.
Our rating: We visited the spring in March 2018. Since we were here to take pictures, we were very glad that swimming was not allowed. Unfortunately, the weather was not so ideal, but the visit was worth it, because we like such small, unusual places.
