Vedauwoo Rocks
Description: Vedauwoo Rocks is an area of interestingly shaped granite rocks. There are several hiking trails, camping and picnic areas. In addition, the rocks are a popular climbing area. The entrance fee of $5/car is paid at a self pay station upon entry.
During our visit in June 2017, we hiked the Turtle Rock Trail. We started from the western trailhead and hiked counterclockwise. The trail is very well developed and so also good to hike. The elevation gain is well spread out along the trail, so you don't have to hike anywhere really steep uphill.
Trail length: 2.88mi
Altitude difference: 558ft
Time needed: 2-3 hours
Difficulty level: easy
Our rating:: We really enjoyed the hike through the Vedauwoo Rocks. It led past beautifully shaped rocks, across meadows and through forests. The trail was very varied and it was just fun to hike. It may not be the most spectacular hike, but we still enjoyed it very much.
