Cheyenne
The East - Wyoming
Cheyenne
Description: Like many towns in the Southwest, Cheyenne was founded with the construction of the transcontinental railroad. Thus, the first settlers arrived in the area in 1867 after a railroad station was established here. In 1890, Cheyenne became the capital of Wyoming. To this day, the city is an important economic factor and has significance above all as an industrial location.
Our rating: Cheyenne is a typical American small town with a nice historic district. On the search for the painted boots (see below) you have the opportunity to see a little bit of the town. Not an absolute must see but still worth a side trip.
... and another nice little feature in Cheyenne....
Artists have painted cowboy boots and these are now scattered all over the city.
