Fifth Avenue
Midtown Manhattan - New York City
5th Avenue
Description: Fifth Avenue in New York City is certainly one of the most famous streets in the world. It runs through Midtown Manhattan and is home to the flagship stores of the world's most famous fashion brands. With store rents of $30000/sqm/month, it's no wonder that only the most famous brands can afford the rents here.
But there is more to discover, because also some of the most famous skyscrapers of the city are located on 5th Avenue. If you walk south from Central Park, you will pass not only Rockefeller Center, but also the Empire State Building.
Our rating: Strolling along 5th Avenue is a must on any visit to New York City. To look at the jewels at Tiffany's or to press the noses flat at the shop windows of the famous fashion labels. The things to buy here are unaffordable for us, but it is still quite nice to watch the people and look in the shop windows during a stroll.
St. Patricks Cathedral
Description: St. Patrick's Cathedral was consecrated in 1879 and is the largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the USA. It is located directly on 5th Avenue right across from Rockefeller Center. The 404ft long and 331ft high church is made of white marble, which originates from Massachusetts.
