Our rating: Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the museum during our visit in June 2017. We only had a glimpse of the outdoor area around the 66m high memorial. The site is interestingly designed and provides a monumental and appropriate setting for remembering the victims of the First World War.
It also offers some nice views of the city. Anyone who is interested in history and is in the neighborhood should definitely stop by here. Especially because there is also the museum.
Thomas Hart Benton Home & Studio SHS
Description: Thomas Hart Benton was an American artist who lived here from 1939 until his death in 1975. He painted and taught here. The house was a meeting place for any number of creative people from all over the world. The house remains in its original condition and you can visit both the artist's living quarters and studio. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980.
There are no fixed tours for the visit. You just start the tour when you arrive. The tours include both floors of the house, last about 45 minutes and cost $5/person. The house is open daily from 10am to 4pm.

Our rating: The house of Thomas Hart Benton is located in a very well-kept and sophisticated residential area. Unfortunately, we were too late for a visit in June 2017. We could only take a brief look at the house from the garden. Who is interested in art will certainly have fun here. For us, a visit here remains on our bucket list.
