Old Victoria

Description: The Old Victoria Historical Site is a restored village that represents the early mining era in the region. Four of the log cabins built next to the copper mine in 1899 can still be visited today. Unfortunately, when we visited in early October 2024, the season had ended and all the houses were closed. All that remained was a short walk around the buildings.

Our rating: Old Victoria is a well-preserved historic site. It is certainly much more exciting here when everything is open. For this reason, we cannot give a proper rating.

Victoria Dam und Wasserfall

Description: If you follow the road from Old Victoria to the east, you will reach a dam after a few miles. This is where the western branch of the Ontoganon River is dammed. When the reservoir is full, the overflow forms a pretty waterfall.

Our rating: We were lucky because there was so much water in the lake during our visit that we could see Victoria Falls. Certainly not a must-see, but a nice little detour in combination with Old Victoria.
