Bond Falls
Description: Bond Fall is a waterfall on the middle branch of the Ontonagon River, a few miles east of Paulding in Haight Township in southern Ontonagon County, Michigan. The total height of the falls is about 50 feet. From Bond Falls to Lake Superior, the river overcomes a height difference of 875feet.
Our rating: Very easy to reach and a beautiful waterfall. You can walk around the waterfall and climb up to the edge from where it plunges into the depths. It is definitely worth the trip.
Agate Falls
Description: Agate Falls is located about 6.8mi downstream of Bond Falls, also on the middle branch of the Ontonagon River. At this point, the river makes its way over an extensive plateau of terraced sandstone. The resulting waterfall is a wide ribbon of intertwining cascades and small waterfalls that are almost 40feet high.
Our rating: Unfortunately, you can only see the waterfall very poorly from the viewing platform. If you want a better view, you have to climb down a very steep slope. If you don't intend to do this, you can actually save yourself the trip here.
