Chicago - Illinois
Adler Planetarium
Description: The planetarium is located at the tip of the small peninsula Northerly Island in Lake Michigan. Due to its location, it offers a great view of downtown Chicago's skyscrapers. The planetarium was built in 1930 with the support of industrialist Max Adler and has carried his name ever since. The museum offers great exhibitions about space and astrology. Many exhibits, some of them historically important, give an understanding of space. In addition, there are two theaters with impressive projections and movies.
The Adler Planetarium is also part of the City Pass .
Our rating: Actually, we ended up at the planetarium because the weather was bad and we were more than pleased. It was really fun to discover the exhibitions and to spend a few hours here.

The Field Museum
Description: Founded in 1893, the Field Museum is now one of the largest natural history museums in the world. Since 1921, it has been located on its current site and is home to permanent exhibitions in the fields of biology, geology and ethnology. It is one of the most visited museums in the world. With Sue, the museum is home to the largest, most complete and best preserved skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The Field Museum is also part of the City Pass .
Our rating: The museum is huge and so it is hardly possible to even remotely see everything in one day. What we saw was interesting and very worth seeing. Rarely has the time in a museum passed so quickly. We liked it very much and if we are in Chicago again, we will certainly come back here.

Now there are more than 30000 pieces from five centuries in the collection of the museum. Many famous artworks and paintings are gathered here. With 1.4 million visitors annually, the museum is one of the city's top attractions.

Our rating: For me as an artist an absolute must see. It is simply indescribable to admire famous paintings in their original version. Unfortunately, you just do not always have so much time to look at everything. I could easily spend days here. Since here are works of art by many, world-renowned artists it should certainly not be difficult for all art-loving people to find something interesting.
