Description: Whistler is one of the most famous ski resorts in Canada and is located about 115km north of Vancouver. Whistler-Backcomb is the largest and one of the most snow-reliable ski resorts in North America. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler hosted numerous competitions in many different sports. Also in summer you have numerous opportunities for recreation here. Hotels, restaurants, stores and ski lifts are arranged along a pedestrian zone that you are not allowed to drive on.
Our rating: We visited Whistler in July 2002. Even in summer there was still several feet of snow on the mountains. The place itself is a typical tourist resort with tons of hotels, stores, restaurants, bars and of course ski lifts. We liked the place quite a bit. Everything seemed very well kept but was relatively pricey. Surely a week skiing vacation is only something for the well-stuffed wallet.
