Milwaukee Pierhead Light
Description: The Milwaukee Pierhead Light is located on a peninsula just outside the small town of Kenosha, on the shore of Lake Michigan. The lighthouse was built in 1906 and is 59ft high. With its striking color it immediately catches the eye.
In addition to the pretty red lighthouse, another attraction is the Promenade Art Walk in Harbor Park across the street. Sculptures by various artists are exhibited throughout the park, which you can explore on your own as part of a self-guided tour. The sculptures change at regular intervals.
Our rating: We visited this nice place on Lake Michigan in June 2017, on our drive from Milwaukee to Chicago. Certainly not a must see, but a nice little stop on the way to stretch your legs.
