Great River Bluffs SP
Description: The Great River Bluffs SP is located directly on the Mississippi River, on the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The park consists of several bluffs from which you have a great view of the Mississippi River. At the level of the SP, the Black River also flows into the Mississippi and forms a picturesque delta.
We visited the park in June 2017 and looked at the North, South and East Overlook. Short hiking trails lead to each of the overlooks through a beautiful forest. In addition to other viewpoints, there are also some hiking trails and opportunities for picnicking and camping in the park.
Our rating: For us it was a nice stop on the way from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. The trails to the viewpoints were short, very well developed and easy to hike. During our visit in mid-June it was already very warm and because of the proximity to the river also very humid. Nevertheless, we enjoyed taking a look at the Mississippi River. The river is simply huge and impressive.
