Devils Tower NM

Description: You can walk around the Tower on two trails. We were on the Tower Trail during our visit. The Tower Trail is the shorter of the two trails and leads directly at the foot of the basalt rocks around the mountain.

Trail length: 1.2mi
Altitude difference: 164ft
Time needed: 1-2 hours
Difficulty level: easy - The path is very well developed and very easy to hike. There are hardly any height differences to overcome.

Our rating: The Devils Tower is a fascinating mountain. Visible from afar, it rises over 656ft from the ground, almost out of nowhere. We had a lot of fun walking around the mountain and exploring the area. Unfortunately, we were forced to cut our visit short by a strong thunderstorm. However, this is a place we would definitely come back to a second time.
