Hike Description: The sandstone cliffs at Castle Gardens look like an amphitheater. There are picnic areas all around and possibilities to park the car. In principle, it doesn't matter from where you start the hike, because there are no fixed paths. You can climb everywhere between the rocks. To see the beautiful formations, you have to climb up.
Trail length: 1.63mi
Altitude difference: 768ft
Time needed: 2-3 hours
Difficulty level: easy to strenuous - Depending on whether and where you climb or hike among the rocks.
Our rating: For the hike a little surefootedness would certainly be an advantage. Since there are no paths, the terrain is partly steep and slippery. We had great fun roaming through the great rocky landscape here. During our visit we were completely alone and could enjoy everything in complete peace.
