Fishing Bridge
Description: Fishing Bridge is located at the intersection of the Grand Loop Road and the East Entrance Road. This leads to Cody, a town about 50mi east of Yellowstone NP.
The original bridge over the Yellowstone River was built in 1902. The current bridge dates from 1937. At that time, the bridge was a very popular spot for fishing, because there used to be a lot of trout here. However, as the fish population continued to decline, fishing was banned in 1973. Today you can at least still observe the fish very well here.
Our rating: You pass the Fishing Bridge when you enter the park from Cody. The bridge itself is not very attractive, but there are some nice animal sighting spots around the bridge or in the further course of the East Entrance Road, in the direction of Cody.
An important and always very fun part are the animals that you can observe in their natural habitat, especially in the national parks. Here around the Fishing Bridge we were able to spot the animals shown below.
