Highlights on the northern 8 in Yellowstone NP
Yellowstone NP is huge and there is a lot to discover. The roads in the park form a big 8. To make all the activities clearer we have divided the park into two parts. This part deals with the northern part of the park and the upper half of the 8.

In 2020, Yellowstone NP ranked 2nd in the most visited national parks visitor statistics and 4th in 2023.
Best time to visit: From June to October.

Entrance fees and opening hours
- 35$/car and all passengers valid for 7 days
- Covered by the Anual Pass*
- Open 24h all year round. However, in winter only the road between the north entrance in Gardiner and the northeast entrance in Cook City is open.
*The Anual Pass is so to speak the "flat rate" for all Parks managed by the National Park Service. The pass costs a one-time fee of $80 and can be purchased at the entrance to each National Park, National Monument, etc. The pass is valid for 13 months.
