Description: Pioneertown was founded in 1946 by a group of actors and investors. The idea was to create a town that would serve as a backdrop for western movies, but could also be used after filming had finished. For this purpose, buildings were constructed that resembled a typical Western town from the outside. Inside, however, they house facilities such as ice cream parlors, a bowling alley or motels. From time to time, performances take place on the main street.

Our rating: We took a short trip to Pioneertown in June 2023. We liked the backdrops very much. They offer pretty photo motifs. Anyone who is in the area and is interested in the Wild West will certainly get their money's worth here. In a good hour you have seen everything important.
