Miracle Rock aka Potato Rock
Description: The trailhead to Miracle Rock is about 9.5mi west of the small town of Glade Park, west of Colorado NM. Most of the approach is on a paved road. Only the last 1.5mi are on a dirt road. During our visit in June 2023, this road was in good condition and could have been used by a regular car.

The hike leads from a small picnic area up a small hill to Miracle Rock. The trail is not difficult and only a few 100 feet long.

Altitude difference: 20feet
Time needed: 1 hour
Difficulty level: easy
Our rating: The approximately 33 feet high rock balances directly on the cliff edge and offers an impressive sight. We also like the view and the surrounding rocks. We are completely alone here which additionally contributes to a beautiful experience. We think it's worth a detour if you're in the area anyway.

Ela Natural Bridge
Description: The Ela Natural Bridge is located about 5.5mi west of Glade Park. You can see the bridge from the road. Parking is only available directly on the road. The way to the bridge is blocked by a barbed wire fence and a sign. The sign indicates that the bridge is on a private property and the passage is prohibited. Of course we respected that.

Our rating: Since you can see the bridge well from the road it was no problem that we were not able to walk closer to it. Therefore it is a small stop between Colorado NM and Miracle Rock which is worth a small stop.
